We are a friendly community brass band based in Egham, West Surrey, near London, with a history stretching back over a hundred years. Our busy engagement list includes community events such as Remembrance Sunday, the Windsor Christmas Parades and local carnivals. In the Summer we play outdoor concerts in local parks which this year included the RHS Wisley gardens. In the last few years we have performed in concert with guest soloists including Glyn Williams, Chris Jeans, Roger Webster, Steve Sykes and Alan Morrison. The next is planned for 3rd March 2011 with Owen Farr. We are also available for private or corporate events.

2010 saw the band progress to new heights, competing in the London and Southern Counties Regional Contest for the First Section and achieving third place, the best ever contest result in our 115-year history. The band qualified to represent the region at the National Finals in Harrogate. We are now placed at the top of the section and another good result in 2012 could mean promotion to the Championship Section.

The summer of 2010 marked the formation of the Egham Training Band, a new band for learners in Surrey. This group is led by our flugelhorn player, and retired principal cornet of The Welsh Guards, Stewart Gaudion, with input from other band members and local tutors within the Surrey area. Rehearsals now with 20 children are held on Monday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm in our Bandhall. The training band's first concert performance was a great success as part of the senior band concert at Christmas 2010, repeated with the enlarged group in 2011 and they also gave a short performance at the 2011 Englefield Green Fair in the Summer. We are looking to grow the band further, so please get in touch if your child is interested in joining.
